I wanted to send you a HUGE thank you for all of your help in preparing me for the MUN Med interview… it worked, I received an acceptance letter!!! I am not sure if I would have been able to do it without your guidance and critiques, especially for the MMI. Thank you thank you thank you!

“I GOT INNNNNNNNN!!!! Thank you again for everything. The coaching was worth every penny and more.
It made a world of difference… and it’s definitely what put me ahead this year. There are a lot of people that I felt were stronger candidates than me who didn’t get in this time around, so I must have had a huge improvement in my interview scores.
I stand by what I said before, that you get most of the credit for me getting in haha.
Getting an acceptance letter is truly life changing, and I owe that to you. So for the thousandth time, thank you.”

Do you know what to say… and what not to say? Are you aware of the messages your posture and body language are sending, especially in high-tension situations?
The idea of a mock interview or interview coaching may sound strange to you. Is there really anything you can do to improve your interview skills? Actually, yes! But it’s not trying to memorize the “perfect” answers to interview questions. There’s no way you can have an answer ready for every question. And what if you get asked a type of question you never even imagined? Don’t leave yourself vulnerable.
Instead, your best approach is to strategically invest your time actually improving your interview strategies and skills. Your interview could be one of the best hours of your life, or one that you will look on and wonder what went wrong. Do all you can to make it a memory you’ll love to share.
Friendly, encouraging interview training
Lorne Pike has provided in-person and online interview coaching for applicants across Canada facing entrance interviews into top universities or vital job openings. His strategic training programs are delivered in a friendly, no-pressure, encouraging environment. Some of his clients were going into their first interview, while others had previously tried two or three times without getting in. Some were confident and simply wanted to take every possible step to improve their chances. Others were nervous or frustrated over their lack of success so far. Happily, more than two-thirds were accepted after Lorne’s coaching, and all said the sessions were extremely helpful in better understanding themselves and how they communicate in all their relationships.
I chose to have interview coaching with Lorne after my previous interviews last year for genetic counselling programs were unsuccessful. Thanks to his help, this year I was accepted to 7 out of the 9 places I interviewed! He was extremely intuitive in pointing out things for me to improve on, and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. I really appreciated his supportive approach to coaching and how he made me feel comfortable in a normally nerve-wracking environment. I know that his advice will continue to benefit me in the future!
Thanks again for everything,

Sorry for not e-mailing after my Western interview, but it went great. It was more of a conversation style interview that I felt super comfortable in thanks to your help! It went so well that THEY ACCEPTED me into the DDS program for September! So excited and I cannot thank you enough for your guidance.
Thanks again for everything,

Interview coaching from Lorne was very helpful in preparation for my medical school interview. He was a great help in refining my ideas, making my points clearer, and bringing out my best qualities. Lorne taught me how to approach questions for the MMI questions which was beneficial and helped me know what to expect on the day of the interviews. With his help, I went into the interviews with more confidence, less stress, and ultimately, had a great interview day.

Your interview coaching will reflect the format of your particular interview, whether traditional or Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) or mixed, and will take place in a series of three meetings:
The first is a chance to review your background and get your thoughts on any previous interviews. We discuss ways in detail the ways you can best prepare for the coming interview, given your particular background and concerns you may have. This session will typically last 1–2 hours.
In the second meeting we stage a “mock interview” that we record on video and then review in detail, allowing you to see where you are doing well and where you can focus efforts to improve. This session will often run 3–4 hours, and within a few days you will be given a link where you can view the interview online at any time leading up to your actual interview.
The third meeting will be a shorter wrap-up session, typically 30–60 minutes in length, where we summarize the progress made and highlight any remaining areas where you can prepare for the actual interview.
We have coached people preparing for their firefighter interview, med school interview, dental school interview, and job interviews in a number of careers. These coaching sessions are steadily growing in popularity, so it is recommended that you book as early as possible to ensure you get your preferred times.

Interview coaching that truly hits home
We normally hold our interview coaching in St. John’s, NL, Canada. However, arrangements can typically be made for the sessions to be held anywhere in Canada or the United States. Sometimes this can even be done at no additional cost if sufficient requests come from that area and schedules permit.

They say Lorne’s interview coaching made the difference in their getting accepted In some cases they say it improved their ability to handle vital business and personal relationships in general. Prior to seeing Lorne Pike, I had done a few practice interviews. Despite this, I lacked confidence and felt unprepared for my upcoming interview.
My sessions with Lorne Pike changed all of that. He empowered me to present myself in the best way possible. His ability to analyze and give constructive feedback is second to none. Lorne understands what the interviewers are looking for and will ensure you use your personality, skills, and experiences to your advantage.
I would highly recommend Lorne Pike’s services to anyone preparing for a medical school interview.

Lorne is a professional, experienced interview coach who will not tell you what to say, but efficiently and effectively show you how to best express yourself. He will prepare you to confidently tackle the toughest interview questions in a way that accentuates your uniqueness and distinguishes your strengths, regardless of the interview focus or field.

The sessions and coaching that Lorne provided were quite helpful. He has a keen eye and is able to really help with recognizing what details were potentially important to revise. His communication style was clear and on point, however he stressed that everything he said was simply a suggestion, and to feel free to take what could be useful. At this stage in preparation it was extremely helpful to refine some of my mannerisms and how I approached responding to certain questions.
The difference between applicants who are accepted and who are not accepted is very small. I believe if Lorne’s coaching was even slightly beneficial it would have been worth the sessions. All in all, Lorne is a great coach and a huge supporter of his clients. The coaching that he provides is appropriate and very helpful, no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable you are as an interviewee.
