Website designs for hotels can make or break any establishment’s reputation and viability. Actually, hotels are not a place for the timid entrepreneur to find any rest. There is virtually no environment more competitive. Hotels and motels have long worked hard to fill every room possible amidst a steady chorus of others doing the same thing. Add in the groundswell of private competitors and homes being made available online for rentals in recent years, and you have an environment that just keeps getting more and more daunting.
That was the day-to-day competitive reality for Hometel on Signal Hill in St. John’s. As a smaller hotel it lacked the huge budgets of many large competitors from national chains, or even many of the well-established local big establishments. Still, it had an exceptional location, excellent customer loyalty, and delightful rooms and staff. It just couldn’t see how to get the public to see them in such a competitive industry.
Lorne Pike & Associates met with them and identified the strengths they had to offer and presented a clear pathway to help make it happen. We detailed a process that included a complete new set of images to better showcase their rooms, detailed content to highlight their location and other key offerings, and put it all into a new website that was able to give them a radically improved online presence within weeks. We also partnered with them to incorporate their strong ratings and presence on Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) such as Expedia and Booking.com, and flexed with them while they chose a new booking engine, to ensure the new site would incorporate online booking.
